Why I Took a Full Month Off from Executive Coaching (And Why You Should Let Yourself Dream Too)

Well hello, it's been a minute.
This Summer, working with my coach, I took the unprecedented step of taking a full month off.
I wasn't experiencing burnout, yet it still felt like a huge turning point. The kind of step that summed up years of internal and external work.
It was me learning how to dream again, and making those dreams come true. It was me giving myself permission to live on my own terms and trust myself. It was me choosing my values over expectations or default patterns.
The biggest lesson? You have to let yourself dream first.
So I ask you, what is one thing that feels a little "crazy" or out of the norm, whispering up from inside you?
A family sabbatical?
A Fashion VC?
Opening a local ice cream shop?
My dream was giving my family a '90s wilderness summer. Once I said it out loud, the signs showed up. A big old 7 bedroom cottage, empty for years, sat right across the bay from close family friends. Sight unseen, I tracked down the owner and asked to rent it for a month.
He said yes.
It was everything I hoped:
Long morning swims to the dock and back with the boys and Gemma 🐶
Dragging canoes behind a tinny boat at sunrise to find a new fishing hole
Discovering our Mini Goldendoodle is secretly a lake dog
5pm "docktails" and tunes while the kids perfected their cannonballs
Swamping the paddle boards mid lake for no reason except fun
✨So here's my challenge to you. What are your dreams? What would you do if you gave yourself permission to step outside the norm?✨
