New year, new rituals? Not exactly.

I'm not big on resolutions, but I do have a couple of things I stick to every January.
Thing 1: The Annual Letter I write to my friends and family and actually mail it (yes, snail mail). Think Christmas card glow up. I love seeing my friends' updates on social media but I don’t post much so this is my way of sharing/connecting back. Plus, it's a nice keepsake of what the family got up to for the year.
Thing 2: My Word of the Year Last year was NURTURE – my people, my business, my health.
This year? SAVOUR (yes, with a U – Canadian here 🍁)
What that means: I want to live with more intention and actually notice those small pops of joy..
Between a full family life, running a business and coming through cancer treatments, I've got a lot of patterns on autopilot. This month, I'm getting curious about my auto-pilot in honour of my new theme.
Some questions I'm asking myself:
I've run my coaching program the same way since day one. What if it could be different? Better?
I always block mornings for kids. Could I sneak in 25 minutes of weights before 9?
We've always believed "hockey season = no travel." But... is that actually true? What could I do?
It's gentle curiosity – not harsh judgment. Just seeing where I might shift things to align more with savouring life
Thing 3:.Go for a walk or a sauna with one of my besties and compare notes. She has her own rituals and sharing them really deepens our learning and holds us accountable.
Your turn: What rituals do you have as the year starts? Has a word or theme shown up
for you yet?
